This is my first time trying out a mineral sun stick. This one has a balmy texture. It’s fragrance-free, essential-oil free, and it has a PAO of 12 months.
Before using this, I make sure to warm it up initially on the back of my hand so that it can glide easily on my skin. I love that this sun stick doesn’t make me oily even after 3 hours of application. I can apply this on my eye area with no problem at all because it doesn’t sting although its a bit hard to swipe it because of the sun stick’s shape. It has a matte finish and a slight tone-up effect if you have fair skin. I also love that it’s not heavy on the skin. I really find this sun stick great for reapplication because it’s so convenient and handy. I can just put it in my bag and reapply anywhere.
What I really don’t like about using this is that there is skin tugging involved. I have dermatographia so imagine my skin having red, raised bumps all over my skin where I slid the sun stick. The first time I tried this, that was the case since I used it immediately after washing my face. After that, I had to make sure my skin was well-prepped and moisturized before using this but even if my skin was well-moisturized, there is still slight tugging involved since this is a sun stick. I think this is also the culprit of the small bumps on my face so I don’t know if I will continue to use this. I think its because of the hyaluronic acid present in this product. I found out recently that my skin cannot tolerate HA well.
Overall, I like this sun stick but mainly for reapplication only. I still prefer to use cream/liquid type sunscreens. It’s also pricey for a small amount of product.
