This silicone tool has flexible, 0.4mm micro bristles to cleanse deeply and thoroughly (compared to just using hands) and improve skin texture. It has a built in pump that can increase the pressure inside the brush – 3 to 5 pumps are recommended – and a quick release button for deflating. The bristles are soft and comfortable and can be easily washed with water. It also comes with a suction cup hanger for easy storage and drying.
I’ve been using this since I received it in December, at least thrice a week. I have a sonic cleansing tool which I’d been using once a week but I realized I like a manual tool better because I can control the pressure I apply to it. I like how soft the microbristles are, and they don’t feel abrade my skin. I usually do four pumps on the handle and use this with a foam cleanser applied to my face first – it’s just easier to distribute it evenly that way – and lightly scour with the brush to help foam it up.
My skin’s on the dry side, and I exfoliate chemically quite frequently so excessive oil, acne or clogging aren’t major concerns. But I typically wear a lot of makeup this time of year because of the holidays, and I feel like this tool really does give me a more thorough cleanse as well as better texture after cleansing. I experienced no irritation or sensitivity in using this brush. I really appreciate is that it’s made of high quality silicone, making it resistant to bacterial growths, a key consideration in a humid country such as ours. In the past I’ve thrown out konjac sponges after a few uses because they turned a suspicious color or had gone slimy, and there’s no danger of that with this tool.
With bristles so fine, particles do get caught in between, which can be particularly tricky if you use it with a cleanser or wash off mask with scrubby bits. I’ve discovered a hack, though – pump to full capacity and rinse under running water. Works like a charm!
My small complaint is the hanger – it suctions to the wall securely but my brush keeps falling out of it and ends up on the floor so I’ve taken to storing it at an angle on the counter instead. Nevertheless I must say this has fast become a favorite tool of mine, no small feat considering how lazy I am with tools. Gentle, easy to use, and effective – I’m definitely going to be using mine for a long, long, time.
Thank you, Benton for providing this product for review (all opinions mine).
